6. Summer of Love When They Said It Was Peaceful Protests

Seattle’s radical Mayor Jenny Durkan infamously dubbed the 2020 CHOP/CHAZ zone a “Summer of Love.” She claimed the autonomous protest area abandoned by police was a peaceful experiment in self-governance. Conservatives called it what it really was: a Summer of Chaos, filled with shootings, rapes, property destruction, and at least two teen deaths.

Fox Nation specials and Trump-era briefings mocked Durkan’s delusion and contrasted the media’s mostly peaceful label for BLM riots with the instant insurrection tag for January 6. While cities burned and businesses were looted, Democrats downplayed the violence as love. It was a blatant double standard that let anarchy fester under progressive rule.

The zone became a failed socialist utopia: no police, armed guards, demands for reparations, and escalating crime.
